The SHOULDER Season

The SHOULDER Season

This week we are blazing ahead with lots of spring/summer crops: peppers, eggplant, and squash! We also finally received our ginger and turmeric seed this week, so by fall, we should have a nice crop of fresh ginger!

This time of the season is what we call the ''shoulder season". The shoulder season is the in-between season of the deep winter cold season and summer. Because we have limited space we sometimes have to pull up crops that do very well in the winter but as temps become warmer they start to bolt and, we have to make room for our favorite late spring crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, and eggplant.

Because we have 18 cat tunnels and an amazing team, we are able to keep crops planted and seeded, ensuring that we have crops available for harvest 52 weeks out of the year.

Summer bounty is right around the corner and we are all really looking forward to it!
